Enriched Algebra

This course introduces students to some of the freely available mathematical tools for exploring algebra concepts online. Topics may include: Algebra in Games, Algebra in Art and Music, Algebra in Space, Algebra in Business, Algebra in the Sciences, and Algebra in the
Environment. Many applied examples will be provided by the instructor but students are strongly encouraged to pursue a topic of their own choosing. There will be various zoom sessions throughout the program for the students to attend. The date and time of any zoom sessions will be decided after the start of the program based on the availability of the students, generally on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM CST. The instructor will also have some flexibility to work with the students if other days are better for their schedule.


Intro to Research

Introduction to Research is an online and asynchronous course. Students will participate in weekly discussion forums and engage in activities that will support their understanding of the scientific method/ engineering design process and scientific research. They will be introduced to developing a research question, writing a literature review, forming a hypothesis, designing an experiment/invention and data collection plan, analyzing data, and writing conclusions. The course will culminate with students communicating their research topic findings to the class. There will be various zoom sessions throughout the program for the students to attend. The date and time of any zoom sessions will be decided after the start of the program based on the availability of the students, generally on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM CST. Survey of Science

Survey of Science is an online course that introduces students to core concepts in biology, chemistry, and physics. Through an asynchronous format, students will explore topics such as DNA, chemical reactions, Newton’s laws, and more. By completing weekly readings, videos, lectures, and assignments, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of these core concepts. The course concludes with a final project that integrates all three subjects, challenging students to demonstrate their understanding and express it in a creative and challenging way. Survey of Science offers a dynamic and flexible approach to introductory science education, building a strong foundation for future academic success.
