Co-Curricular Activities

Co-curricular activities are a vital part of the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) experience, extending learning far beyond the classroom. These opportunities allow students to explore their interests, apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, and develop critical skills such as collaboration, leadership, and creative problem-solving. Whether participating in academic teams, cultural organizations, research initiatives, or service projects, IMSA students engage in experiences that deepen their intellectual curiosity while fostering a strong sense of community.

At IMSA, co-curricular involvement is not just an enhancement—it is an essential component of a well-rounded education. Students are encouraged to take initiative, pursue passions, and contribute meaningfully to campus life. Through these activities, they build confidence, resilience, and a deeper understanding of themselves and others. The result is a dynamic learning environment where students grow not only as scholars but as thoughtful, engaged citizens prepared to make an impact in an ever-changing world.

IMSA participates in four IHSA competitive opportunities, including: Chess, Esports, Scholastic Bowl, and Speech Team.
