It takes a lot of work to put on an IMSA on Wheels show. Meet some of the people that make every show so special, and learn about what they do:

Karla Schmidt

Karla is a senior working on IMSA on Wheels as her senior research project. Last year, she organized the IMSA on Wheels Intersession, the training grounds for many of the new presenters. This year, along with Stephanie and Justin, she is doing the IMSA on Wheels DVD.

In the summer, I love to travel to warm places with my family.

Currently, I am working with Karla and Justin on the third volume of the IMSA on Wheels DVD based on last year's science show. We have been writing scripts, filming demonstrations, and editing the scenes. Last year, I also helped write and present the third annual IMSA on Wheels show.

Noelle Kwan

Hi! I’m Noelle Kwan from Rockford, Illinois! I am part of the IMSA on Wheels inquiry team with Meng Zhang and James Niles, and we wrote the show Science is Shocking~ Being part of this inquiry team allows me to express my love for kids and science by doing something that I enjoy, traveling and presenting fun science demonstrations ~

Besides participating with IMSA on Wheels, I read all kinds of classical novels and stay engaged in physical activity through fencing and jogging to exercise both body and mind. After all, we must always find something we enjoy and think through life optimistically! ~

Hi there, my name is Qi-yuan Gou. But people just call me Q. I’m from Naperville, and went to Waubonsie Valley High School my freshman year. I’m in many clubs, including Conversational Mandarin Club and Habitats for Humanity, and am involved in Student Council.

In my free time, I like to play exercise, chill, or do stupid stuff with friends. I learned about this excellent Inquiry opportunity through Meng (another Inquiry student), and have thoroughly enjoyed the learning experience it has provided. Kevin is my partner, and together we’ve made a really cool show for middle schoolers :)

Kevin Salarda

My name is Kevin Salarda. I am a junior at the Illinois Math and Science Academy. I am on the junior IMSA on Wheels inquiry team. Our show is called Amazing Magnetism. Our show is different from the previous IoW shows because instead of presenting in front of elementary school students, we will be presenting in front of middle school students.

I live in Sparta, which is about a five hour drive from IMSA. I am on the swimming and track team, but I enjoy playing just about any sport. I used to play in the school band. I played Clarinet for Concert band, drumline for marching band, and Alto Sax for Jazz band. I am in MDC (Modern Dance Club), Glowsticking club, and ACC (Asian Cultures Club). I am a pretty big gamer. I currently play WoW (World of Warcraft) and I am starting to play Doom 3.
