TICKETS NOW ON SALE FOR IMSA’S 20TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT

AURORA – The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) will celebrate its 20th Anniversary and honor those who champion “bold ideas and world-class results” with a special dinner and program at Tellabs in Naperville on April 20, 2007.

The honorees include: Michael J. Birck, chairman of the board, Tellabs; Susan K. Eddins, charter mathematics faculty member, IMSA; Stephanie Pace Marshall, founding president, IMSA; Walter E. Massey, president, Morehouse College and J. Ted  Sanders, executive chairman, Cardean Learning Group.   

The event also includes a tribute to recipients of the inaugural IMSA Board of Trustees Alumni Awards (profiles at http://www.imsa.edu/alumni/awards/recipients.php)
and a special interactive showcase of IMSA student inventions.

In addition, the event will feature CBS 2 Chicago Political Editor Michael Flannery as the Master of Ceremonies.   Flannery has been the political editor for CBS 2 since 1980, responsible for covering Chicago City Hall, Springfield and all elections.   Flannery has received many awards throughout his career including several Emmys, a Best Reporter Award and the Illinois Associated Press Award for Best Enterprise.  

The $250.00 ticket price ($2,500.00 for a table of 10) includes a $135.00 tax-deductible donation to the IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education.  To order tickets, contact IMSA’s Office of Advancement at (630) 907-5033 or email IMSA20@imsa.edu.

The IMSA 20th Anniversary Celebration is being hosted by the IMSA Board of Trustees and the IMSA Fund for Advancement of Education.  The IMSA Fund is a not-for-profit corporation that raises private funds to help support IMSA’s programs for Illinois students and teachers.
