IMSA Board Welcomes New Members

AURORA – The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) announces the appointment of H. Carol Bernstein and Jacklyn Naughton to the IMSA Board of Trustees.
Bernstein, who lives in Chicago, is vice-president of Aurora-based Cabot Microelectronics Corporation, and has also been affiliated with Argonne National Laboratory, the Schaumburg-based Advantis Company and IBM. She has lectured or taught at the University of Chicago, Northwestern University, Vassar College, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the United States Military Academy at West Point.
Bernstein received her B.A. from Colgate University, her J.D. from Northwestern University and is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
Naughton, who resides in Hawthorn Woods, is currently an Honors and AP Biology teacher at Niles North High School, Skokie. Her background includes serving on Governor Blagojevich's Transition Team, the Illinois Association of Biology Teachers Advisory Board, the Illinois State Teachers Association Awards Committee and as Chair of the North Suburban Teachers Union Mentorship Committee.
Naughton received her Master’s degree in Biology/Education from Roosevelt University and Gifted Education Certification from Aurora University. She is the recipient of numerous awards including "Illinois Science Teacher of the Year" and "Outstanding Teacher" presented by the University of Chicago.
