IMSA INVITES STUDENTS AND PARENTS TO VISIT ITS CAMPUS

AURORA-- The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy® (IMSA) has scheduled a Visitor Information Program (VIP) Day and IMSA Kids Institute® Open House for prospective students and their parents to visit the campus. Families can learn more about the Academy's academic and residential programs and IMSA Kids Institute ® winter/spring Saturday workshops.

The open house is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2004 . Musical entertainment by IMSA students will begin at 12:30 p.m. The event, hosted by “Kevin Bock the Science Jock,” will also feature a performance by “IMSA on Wheels,” tours of the campus, hands-on science activities, and information about Saturday Workshops and Summer programs and the public, residential academic program itself. Advance reservations are not required but guests are encouraged to arrive on time for the structured program activities.

IMSA's public residential educational program serves Illinois students (grades 10-12) talented in mathematics and science; most room and board expenses are provided by state funds.

Applications for the IMSA class of 2007, which will enroll next fall, are now available. Talented Illinois students enrolled in the equivalent of a ninth grade program are eligible for consideration. Tuition and most room and board expenses are provided by state funds. A written application must be completed and returned to IMSA, postmarked no later than March 1, 2004 . Students should contact their high school guidance counselor or IMSA's admission office at (630) 907-5028 or 1-800-500-IMSA to receive an application.
