AURORA—Bobby Xu of Naperville, a senior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA), has won the 2003-2004 Siemens Award for Advanced Placement (AP) awarded by the Siemens Foundation. Only 24 high school students nationally are chosen to receive this award.

Xu will receive a $3,000 scholarship as one of only four students in the Midwest region of the United States to qualify for the award, which is based on cumulative AP scores in mathematics and science.

“I’m definitely very excited to get this great honor,” said Xu, who plans to attend Harvard University this fall and is editor-in-chief of the IMSA student newspaper. “I’ll certainly put the award to good use.”
