AURORA – Students at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) will host guest speaker Mr. Matt Towey, development director for the Chicago House at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 19, 2003 in the IMSA Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the greater Aurora community.
Chicago House is a social service agency for low-income and homeless Chicagoans infected with HIV/AIDs. Towey's presentation is designed to increase awareness of the prevalence of AIDS in poverty and explore the ways in which everyone can help.
Attendees and others are asked to support the fight against AIDS in poverty by bringing the following items to IMSA, which will be packaged and donated to the Chicago House Charity: towels, cookware, barbecue utensils, ice chests/coolers, food vouchers for holiday events, and unused toiletries. Volunteers also are needed following Towey's presentation to help package the kits for delivery to Chicago House.
In addition, for those who would like to make an advance donation, a collection box will be available at the IMSA reception desk beginning November 1, 2003 . If you have further questions, contact (630) 907-5947 between the hours of 11:35-1:00 p.m. Monday-Friday.
